TrustSeniors on Drug Importation
The FDA CANNOT inspect and guarantee the efficacy and safety of drugs manufactured in foreign countries for drugs approved by the FDA for marketing in the United States, and seniors are at extreme health and safety risks if they buy drugs from Canadian pharmacies thinking they are buying FDA approved safe and effective drugs. The truth: No such guarantee exists.
Proponents of allowing prescription drugs to be imported from Canada on the claim that will reduce drug costs for American consumers are just plain wrong — the truth is the majority of those drugs are manufactured in unapproved and arguably unsafe manufacturing facilities located in more than 25 countries that are sent to Canda and then transshipped to the United States.
The bottom line: Consumers who buy so-called imported drugs from Canadian pharmacies are exposed to huge safety and health risks.
